
Parco di Cibeno Pile (north of Carpi, Cibeno) with its 24.000 sqm hosts more than 30 Ulmus (Eml) free from Grafiosi that has caused the destruction of the majority of elms that have characterised Padana plain ever since. The park owns a significant play area and it is seat of an equipped centre for elderly people.
Parco Sandro Pertini ( in the south area near Via Bollitora) with its 37.000 sqm is the result of a complex and modern project: inside there is a well-equipped play area and standing areas for the public.
Parco Giovanni Paolo II, ex Foro Boario (Via Alghisi, near the train station) is a green area of about 6.000 sqm, with two play areas for the different ages and uses. There are many threes and recently planted shrubs that create a variety of colours and flowering during the year.
The Public Gardens (behind the Municipal Theatre) with their 4500 sqm; this green area created since 1868, hosts an important specimen of Celtis Australis (Bagolaro or Spaccasassi) about 130 years old.
Parco della Resistenza (near the city cemetery) with its 37.000 sqm it hosts many varieties of plants . Among these latter, worthy of note for their beauty ; a specimen of Liriodendron Tulipifera and some examples of Fagus rarely present in plains.
At the beginning of the XX century, in order to drain the excessive water in overflow periods and to provide water during the drought, the Bonifica Parmigiana Moglia-Secchia has made an important work of canalisation involving the whole territory, until the Apennines area.
Parco delle Rimembranze ( near the Hospital) created in 1927 in remembrance of the World War I victims , occupies an area of about 25.000 sqm and houses some very nice specimens of Populus Alba (White Poplar), Quercus Robur (Oak) e Juglans Nigra (black or American Walnut).
